Help For Home Buyers
For a limited time, qualified categories of home buyers are eligible for financial support from the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Cincinnati. The Welcome Home Program offers grants to assist with down payment and closing costs.
As you work through your mortgage application, the Cinfed Origination team can help determine if you qualify. As a home buyer, you’re eligible for this FHLB grant if all of the following guidelines are met:
- Total income for all occupants who will reside in the home is at or below 80 percent of the Mortgage Revenue Bond (MRB) limit for the county and state where the property is located.
- A fully executed purchase contract (signed by buyer and seller) on an eligible property is in hand.
- The home buyer has at least $500 of their own funds to contribute towards down payment and/or closing costs.
- A home buyer counseling course completed prior to the loan closing
For those meeting these criteria, grants of up to $20,000 are available. FHLB offers a limited amount of funding each year for the Welcome Home program which is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Act now to find out if you qualify and take advantage of this grant.
